This statement is said by Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh, director of Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information under the provincial department of Trade and Industry at the talk with Binh Duong Newspaper about Binh Duong’s organization of the Southeastern trade and industry sector fair - handicraft exhibition 2014 in December ahead.
This is a large-scale fair held at Binh Duong New City to create opportunities for businesses in provinces and cities to expand economic cooperation and exchange as well as to promote trademarks, added Trinh.

Implementing the Ministry of Trade and Industry’s Decision No.5416/QĐ-BTC dated June 17, 2014 on ratifying the third phase of the national trade promotion program 2014. Accordingly, the Ministry of Trade and Industry assigns Binh Duong Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information to host the project of organizing the Southeastern trade and industry sector fair - handicraft exhibition 2014 in Binh Duong province.
The fair’s purpose is to support enterprises in the Southern, Southeastern key economic zone to introduce their products and promote advantages of provinces and cities in this zone. Through this fair, businesses in this zone will strengthen to seek out partners and set up a stable consumption market. The fair will also make up opportunities for enterprises in province and cities to extend economic cooperation, contributing to increase production and business capacity in the international economic integration process.
In addition, this will be a good chance for Binh Duong to introduce potentials, advantages, achievements of local socio-economic development, especially fields of industry, trade in a bid to spur the movement of “Vietnamese people give priorities to use Vietnamese goods”.
How will the fair be held, madam?
Implementing the province’s common plans, the fair will include large contents and programs. As expected, the fair’s activities include exhibition on economic achievements made by provinces and cities in this zone; handicraft exhibition. Expectedly, the fair has the scale of about 600 stalls, displaying and introducing achievements of provinces and cities in the Southeastern zone; exhibition area of the State enterprises’ achievements; display area of handicraft products and more.
Groups of goods at the fair will be very plentiful including handicraft products (ceramics, lacquer, sculpture, furniture and more), processing food and essential products; farm produce; apparel; electronics; auxiliary industrial products. The event’s opening ceremony is expected to take place on Dec. 3 and will be aired on BTV.
Through activities of display and exhibition, a specialized seminar themed “effective measures of trade promotion” will help enterprises increase competition in the international economic integration process. In addition, the conference will be held to launch work on trade promotion for provinces and cities in the Southern area.
Could you tell about preparation work of the fair, madam?
Under close instruction of the provincial People’s Committee, the provincial department of Trade and Industry and the fair’s organizing board plan to assign tasks for sub-committees of mobilization, logistics and specialized teams to contribute to the event’s success. Specifying important role of the fair organization, the fair organizing board combines with departments, agencies, clubs, exporters, businesses and associations across localities to build detailed plans.
At present, the event organizing board continues to mobilize units, businesses to take part in this fair. Related works of logistics, content, organization location are prepared well. Besides, sub-committees in cooperation with functional agencies of provinces and cities in this zone mobilize organizations and units to join positively in this event.
In Nov. 2014, the fair organizing board will check, review preparation works of design, decoration at display stalls. In the end of Nov. 2014, the organizing board will hold a press conference to disseminate the fair’s programs.
