With its advantages on soil, climate and workforce, Phu Giao district has over time focused on promoting farm economy. This is also a highlight of the district’s economy, contributing to improving the local people’s living standards and changing the image of the rural land.
Among the farm economic models in Phu Giao district, the cultivation model has expressed its preeminence in promoting home-based business. As of mid-2010, the district had a total of 618 farms, including 486 perennial tree-growing farms, 119 animal husbandry farms and 13 agriculture-forest-fisheries farms. The total area of these farms now covers 5,895 ha with a total investment capital of VND755.7bln, generating jobs for 3,847 laborers. It is estimated that each farm secures the average income of VND170mln per year.
