In recent years, dairy farmers in Lai Hung commune, Bau Bang district have thrived. Due to industriousness of farmers plus financial, technological support from local government, farmer Nguyen Huy Thuy and many neighboring farmers have yielded high profits from dairy.
Previously, Thuy worked for many companies, but salary was so low. Realizing natural conditions being favorable for dairy farming, in 2000, Thuy invested VND20mln in 2 cows. Because of diligence, learning by experiences, attending actively technological training, exchanging experience with other farmers, his cow number is increasing quickly.
He sells bulls and keeps cows for milking, enlarges number of cows as well as farm area. At the present, his family owns a field of 3ha and 23 cows including 13 cows having 100-150kg/day that are sold with VND13,500/kg. His annual revenue is over VND400mln.
Farmer Thuy shared his experiences: “Breeding cow requires good breeds, strict adherence to nutritional regime, vaccination, and daily feeding schedule. Cows can give milk after 2 years. During the milking, cows have to be well fed. Thanks to modern technologies, breeding cows is much easier”.
Thuy is always open to share his experiences with other farmers. He has also an example encouraging many farmers to enrich themselves.
