Authorities in communes under new rural construction in the province are focusing on promoting the development of hi-tech agricultural production models among farmers, aiming to increase their income. Accordingly, many localities have effectively built hi-tech and urban agricultural production models.
Many farmers in communes under new rural construction have expressed a desire to take part in production models that bring high economic efficiency and are in line with the local new rural construction program.

developed many orchards with fruit specialties. The local farmers have also
effectively implemented the model of intercropping with many different plants.

Another thing An Son is now surrounded by many canals plus more than 4km along Sai Gon River. This is one of the commune’s advantages for the development of agricultural production models. Vo Hieu Trung, a farmer in An Son commune’s An Phu hamlet have successfully developed models on breeding discus fish with symphysodon known as scientific name and planting various orchids in association with the traditional model on growing fruit trees. They are also the models of hi-tech and urban agricultural production models in line with An Son, a pilot commune on new rural construction.
Farmers in other localities under new rural construction have also attached special importance to promoting new production models with high economic efficiency, including those of growing ornamental trees, mushroom, safe vegetable; breeding ornamental fish and animals with high economic value such as lizard, iguana, porcupine…
Apartedly, authorities in communes under new rural construction have paid attention to improving the quality of the existing production models with high economic efficiency. Many communes under new rural construction now possess effective models on growing rubber trees, fruit trees; developing animal husbandry under a concentrated formula. They have also focused on intensive farming for higher productivity.
According to Phan Quang Minh, Chairman of An Lap communal People’s Committee in Dau Tieng district, An Lap is now home to more than 2,600 hectares of small-sized rubber gardens. Along with guiding locals how to improve the quality of rubber gardens, the local authorities will concentrate on supporting them to build many other models with high economic efficiency.
For the above production models getting better results, it is thought that farmers need to further receive support on capital, techniques…among others from the local concerned agencies.
