Following the transition of plants and animals to match development planning of the province, Binh Duong Provincial Association of Farmers has paid more attention to support and encouragement for farmers to expand effective agricultural models. The investment has brought agricultural production of the province to average growth of 4% a year for the past time.
Farmer supporting fund to be effective
For the farmer members, the supporting fund has become an effective source for them to develop household business. The fund has reached VND 69 billion totally with contribution of over 80% from districts, towns, and Thu Dau Mot City. From the beginning of 2014, nearly 3,920 farmer households have been offered VND 66 billion of favorable loans investing into husbandry, planting, and services. The effective fund has been contributive not only to poverty reduction but also to promotion of new rural area construction.

Along with farmer supporting fund, agricultural production forms in the province have been under stable development. Currently, 24 collectives, 254 production cooperative groups, and 1,068 farms are established in the province. The development of such models has significantly contributed to farm produce production including the material supplying resources for processing industries. The application of scientific advancement will facilitate supporting fund for the farmers. Concurrently, the models of agriculture, urban, services, handicrafts, science administration, sustainable development, and environment assurance have been under strong development.
Mrs. Tran Ngoc Phuong, Chair of Thuan An Town Association of Farmers said that the funding of farmer supporting fund and Bank of Social Policies has helped members implement various high-tech agricultural models to earn great economic yields. Particularly, the models of eel rearing in environment of no mud, ornament plants and fishes have been considered as suitable to local economic development conditions.
To concentrate on transferring of science and technology
From 2014, all-level associations of farmers in the province, after disbursing loans to the projects, have coordinated to organize over 590 training courses and workshops on fertilizer administration and caring techniques of orchards, hydroponic plants, rubber latex boosting for over 38,000 turns of members. Binh Duong Provincial Association of Farmers also organized 102 trips of learning at effective facilities of husbandry and production in the province and other localities. The association also directed and implemented guidance for all-level associations to build up 122 models of services, consultancy, and legal support.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Anh Loan, a member of Thanh Hoi Commune Association of Farmers in Tan Uyen Town, said: “After joining local Association of Farmers, I have been offered consultancy and support regarding more effective production techniques. Currently, we are planting vegetables and rice under VietGAP with much higher income than before.”
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Vinh, Chair of Binh Duong Provincial Association of Farmers, said that practical activities and funding have been contributive to sustainable poverty reduction and new rural area construction. In 2015, the association will continue implementing the project of innovating and improving farmer supporting fund from 2012 to 2015 to make it easier for farmers to access the funding resources to develop and improve life. The association will also boost up coordination with industries of agriculture, science, and technology to transfer the advancement to planting and husbandry while maintaining vocational training courses for farmers.
Currently, the agricultural economic structure of the province is transiting to high valuable production thanks to the thorough investments of the province into agriculture.
