Over the past years, Thuan An town has positively spurred movement of good farmers in production and business. Besides, the town farmer society’s members have joined eagerly in building rural infrastructure structure, new rural area, contributing to create a new image for Thuan An town.
Spurring the movement of good farmers in production and business
In the period of 2010-2015, Thuan An town farmer society in cooperation with all level sectors held 326 training classes on scientific transfer for nearly 13,700 members, 73 seminars and 54 experience learning visits for about 5,340 members.
Besides, implementing the movement of good farmer in production and business, as many as 14,516 out of 14,516 farmer households registered to join emulation movements in the beginning of the year. Over the past 5 years, 11,753 out of 14,516 member households won the title of good farmer in production and business, accounting for 81%.
The town farmer society facilitates local farmers’ development of production and business. Many models of production and breeding have placed jobs for laborers and created many products for the society. They models include orchid, ornamental tree, pigeon breeding, eel breeding and more. Through these models, many good farmers in production and business have appeared. They consist of Nguyen Van Tuan with model of breeding dairy cow and growing safe vegetable in An Thanh ward, Nguyen Van Son, with model of breeding crocodile and python in Binh Chuan ward. These households enjoy income of VND180-250mn per year.
Aside from capital from the Bank for Social Policies, farmer society at communes, wards in Thuan An town have built and implemented assistance capital for poor members by offering nursling, breeding, animal’s food and more.
As a result, the society mobilized 28 agents and 346 membership individuals to help 2,218 needy members with the total value of VND18,542mn.
Nguyen Thi Dung, member of Binh Hoa ward farmer society said “Under assistance of the ward farmer society, my model of growing safe vegetable has won stable income over the past 5 years. I reap more than VND100mn per year in profit”.
Focusing on building rural infrastructure structure
According to Tran Ngoc Phuong, chairwoman of Thuan An town farmer society, the society and its branches often disseminate Regulation No.18-QĐ/HNDTW dated Jan. 12, 2011 on stipulating standard of good farmers in production and business in the period of 2011-2016 for members.
In addition, the society in cooperation with Plant Protection Station, the town Economy Division and Center for Vocational Training and Job under the provincial Farmer’s Society held many training classes and transferred technical advances for membership farmers to develop urban agriculture.
The society offers timely capital for local farmers to spur production, breeding and improve income.
Implementing the motto of “The State works with people”, the town farmer society mobilized members to contribute to new rural building and urban rejuvenation. Specifically, Nguyen Thi Kim Uyen in An Quoi hamlet, An Son commune dedicated 452.25sqm of land worth over VNĐ04mn to make An Son 01 road while other members contributed assets to upgrade and expand 128 works of traffic roads and urban rejuvenation with the total value of VND57,354bn.
Stable economy and perfection of rural infrastructure structure have contributed to offer favorable conditions for Thuan An town to develop local economy in the coming time.
