Feasibility study of light rail line in Binh Duong

On March 20, Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee, hosted a meeting with leaders from various departments, agencies, and branches. The meeting included a delegation from Tokyu Group (Japan), led by Mr. Hirohisa Fujiwara, Standing Member of the Board of Directors and Director of International Business at Tokyu Group. Accompanying the delegation was Mr. Oh Dongkun, General Director of Becamex Tokyu Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged ideas on the pre-feasibility report to soon realize the plan to develop a light rail line (LRT) in Binh Duong to serve the development of Metro lines No. 1 and No. 2 of the province in the future.

Tokyu Corporation lso made pre-feasibility reports on the effectiveness of the LRT project, such as contributing to reducing traffic congestion, diversifying public transport types, increasing railway accessibility to schools, commercial areas, industrial zones, areas with high traffic demand, ensuring traffic safety for people using public transport, enhancing the value, competitiveness, and attraction of industrial zones, expanding space for development of urban areas along the route, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bui Minh Tri highly appreciated the feasibility of the project, as well as the investment solution for the LRT line in the province. This model aims to develop a modern, intelligent transportation system that meets the needs of Binh Duong province's intelligent transportation infrastructure.

In order for the project to be effective, Mr. Bui Minh Tri suggested that after the meeting, the two sides need to continue to coordinate to consider research on the feasibility of project investment, continue to survey, have specific research on traffic demand forecast, the ability to arrange land fund for railway infrastructure investment according to the proposal of Tokyu Group, especially the suitability of technological solutions...
