Yearly, by this season, farmers in Thuan An District are busy with flower planting and caring. Over 50 ha of Ochna integerrima, 7,000 sq m of orchids and plenty of gardens in Lai Thieu for other flowers have reported as preparation for a new season is on the way.

Upon visit to Ochna integerrima garden owned by Mr. Vo Ngoc Phung in Vinh Phu, we are informed of a garden area of 3,000 sq m. Their farm includes strong growing Ochna integerrima which gives beautiful and durable blossoms. To prepare for such blossoms, they have to care for the plant right after Tet holiday by rightly branch clipping and applying NPK. On daily basis, they should observe the plants and bend the branches to make up artistic forms. Farmers usually nurture the plants’ leaves and monitor weather condition before setting up a date to pick the leaves as part of an important and decisive stage for great blossoms. Leave picking date is dependent on temperature. The mentioned farm mainly offers to Ho Chi Minh City’s customers who may pay from VND 400,000 up to over VND 10 million for a pot.
Meanwhile, spring is all around in the orchid garden of Uncle Ba in Vinh Phu. Thousands orchid pots of all kinds showing off in blossoms are all ready to be sold. Uncle Ba predicts that orchid farmers will earn more in the coming Tet for selling of orchid buds which may cost VND4-6 million each.
Beyond from ochna and orchid in Thuan An District, other kinds of flowers are all ready for Tet holiday.
