To achieve a target of double-digit economic growth, provincial People's Committee has focused on solutions to address difficulties in production-business activities and promote export activities in the first two months of 2025. Additionally, provincial People’s Committee has decisively directed the disbursement of public investment funds, further called for and attracted domestic, foreign investment and stimulated consumption demands, resulting in a relatively high growth rate compared to the same period in 2024.

Yesterday afternoon (February 27), Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired the 84th meeting of provincial People's Committee to review a report on the committee's directives and administration as well as the local socio-economic and national defense-security situation in the first two months of 2025, along with various other matters.

According to the report presented at the meeting, in the first two months of 2025, provincial People's Committee focused on implementing resolutions, conclusions and directives from the Government, provincial Party Committee and People's Council on socio-economic development. Provincial People’s Committee developed scenarios and sought input from economic experts and researchers to devise solutions for achieving double-digit economic growth in the coming period. To meet this target, provincial People's Committee took drastic actions to remove growth bottlenecks, address challenges faced by key projects, industries’ associations, businesses, investors and accelerate the progress of projects and public investment disbursement. Additionally, provincial People’s Committee directed efforts to effectively reform administrative procedures, promote digital transformation, streamline the organizational structure of departments and agencies for greater efficiency.
The results indicated that in the first two months of 2025, the province's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) was estimated at increasing by 20.67%. The province’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services was estimated at VND 63.89 trillion. The province’s export turnover was estimated to reach nearly US$ 6 billion, up 19.7% compared to the same period in 2024 while import value was estimated at over US$ 3.9 billion. The province's socio-economic situation remained stable, with well-ensured social welfare. The province’s political security was maintained, social order-safety remained stable and traffic accidents decreased in all three criteria (number of incidents, fatalities and injuries).
Additionally, there were positive signs in attracting both foreign and domestic investment in the province over the past two months. Meanwhile, the province's State budget revenue was estimated at VND 18.127 trillion, a 34% increase compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 22% of provincial People's Council's estimate and 25% of the Prime Minister's assigned target…
Solutions implemented in a drastic and synchronous way
Speaking at the meeting, Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People's Committee emphasized that in the first two months of 2025, the province's socio-economic situation remained fundamentally stable. The province’s IIP, trade and services as well as import and export turnover, all showed significant growth. The province’s State budget revenue and expenditure were aligned with estimates, social welfare was well ensured and political security was maintained with stable social order and safety. The Standing Committee of provincial People's Committee has focused on directing the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and double-digit economic growth target of the province for 2025. In parallel, key tasks have been promptly executed in the first months of 2025, along with a detailed roadmap to achieve the growth goal. Efforts are being concentrated on addressing growth bottlenecks, particularly in resolving challenges faced by businesses in production, trade and export activities.
Provincial People's Committee Chairman requested the transportation sector to continue monitoring, urging and accelerating the construction progress of Ho Chi Minh City’s belt road 3 section passing through the province. Additionally, the implementation of projects such as Ho Chi Minh City’s belt road 4 and the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway must be prioritized; coordinate with relevant units to establish a cooperation agreement for the pre-feasibility study report of the Binh Duong New City - Suoi Tien (Ho Chi Minh city) urban railway project and the Bau Bang - Di An railway line.
Provincial People's Committee Chairman emphasized that departments and agencies must focus on implementing the directives of the Government, the National Assembly, provincial Party Committee and People's Council as well as the province’s socio-economic development plan and goal of achieving double-digit economic growth. Efforts should be strengthened to boost production and business activities, particularly in the province’s key industrial sectors and areas directly impacting residents and businesses. Additionally, he urged departments, agencies and localities to continue reviewing and addressing existing shortcomings, demonstrating strong determination and taking drastic action from the first months and quarters of the year, striving for better results in 2025 compared to 2024.
For the upcoming months of 2025, provincial People's Committee Chairman Vo Van Minh has asked for provincial departments and agencies to urgently implement the plan for executing provincial Master Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. Additionally, the execution of the Land Fund Exploitation Project, aimed at generating revenue for socio-economic development in 2025, must be expedited. Key traffic projects should also be accelerated, along with the commencement and inauguration of major projects to celebrate the New Year and the 12th provincial Party Congress...
