In the 2016-2020 period, Binh Duong agricultural sector will implement the overall objective of the 10th provincial Party Congress: “Developing modern urban agriculture with high added values, scientific – technological advancement application, and transferring manufacturing paradigm associated with consumption market, enhancing processing industry and new rural construction”.
Accordingly, the sector will attempt to heighten the added value of agro-forest-fishery sector by 2.2% / year; shift agricultural structure to attain production value target of about 80-100 million VND / ha / year in 2020; high-tech agriculture to attain averagely from 150-200 million VND / ha / year.
Nguyen Tan Binh, Director of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said to perform agricultural developing tasks in the coming time, provincial the agricultural sector will continue implementing the project of urban agricultural development in provincial southern area to create urban green space and ecological environment.
The sector will also focus on husbandry development planning in provincial northern area towards modern industry; continue implementing the project “Restructuring the agricultural sector towards higher added value and sustainable development"; agricultural accommodative policies towards urban agriculture - high-tech agriculture in the 2016-2020; and take steps to plan for agricultural production in the province to meet demands of domestic market and export.
