Over the past year, relevant sectors, department, mass organizations and enterprises in the province paid more attention to models supplying industrial compounds, parks and rural areas with Vietnamese goods. This was one of the province’s effective ways to promote Vietnamese goods.
Models for Vietnamese goods consumption
One of the province’s practical models on Vietnamese goods consumption at present is the model of trade union supermarket. For example, the trade union supermarket of Sao Viet Joint Stock Company at Thuan An town-based Dong An industrial park opens from 15 pm to 21pm daily with more than 800 essential Vietnamese items displayed and sold with 5%-40% discounts.

Nguyen Binh Yen, President of the company’s trade union local said that the company is now home to more than 4,000 laborers with the average income of around VND7million per person per month. For workers’ health, the company decided to set up a trade union supermarket and so far, the supermarket has upheld its efficiency.
Whilst, many other companies, namely Thai Binh Shoes, 3-2 Garment, Shyanf Hung Cheng, Yazaki, PungKoook Saigon II…, have opened mini-supermarkets, convenient stores…for laborers. They have also organized many models supplying laborers with Vietnamese goods, thereby contributing to promoting the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.
Representative of provincial Labor Union said that over the past time, the unit signed agreements implementing the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” with 34 units, domestic enterprises, aiming to supplying laborers with hi-quality commodities and services.
It is known that on the annual Workers’Month, Vietnam Law Day…, provincial Trade Unions at all levels focused on taking care of trade unionists and laborers via such practical activities as selling commodities with preferential prices, offering gifts, including Vietnamese products, to laborers with difficult circumstances…These activities absorbed more than 400,000 trade unionists and laborers with a total value of commodities at around VND100billion.
For Vietnamese goods getting pervasive
Under the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”, provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) over the past 10 years successfully organized 108 market-days of bringing Vietnamese goods to industrial compounds, parks and rural areas with a total revenue of more than VND50.3billion. On average, each market-day absorbed around 20-25 enterprises with 40-45 booths and 12,000 visitors.
Tran Thi Hong Hanh, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that over the past years, the campaign was drastically implemented by Party organizations and authorities at all levels with many forms in line with each locality’s real situation. It also received enthusiastic response of people from all strata. This helped domestic enterprises get a chance to directly connect with customers in order to generate hi-quality goods with suitable design, reasonable price and high competitiveness. They also actively supported trade unionists and laborers to buy domestic products with high quality.
But, according to Mrs.Hanh, more efforts need to be done from relevant sides so that Vietnamese goods dominate the domestic market. Meanwhile, Ho Van Binh, Deputy Director of provincial DoIT said that organizing market-days of Vietnamese goods in rural areas, industrial parks and compounds over the past time contributed to supporting retailers to popularize their trademark, tap the locality’s large rural market…This also helped customers strongly change their awareness and action towards Vietnamese goods.
He added that provincial DoIT will further promote the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”; mobilize enterprises to actively participate in market stabilization programs by organizing market-days of Vietnamese goods in rural areas, industrial compounds and parks…Provincial DoIT will advocate enterprises to take part in expos nationwide, helping them popularize products, enhance their domestic market share…
