On May 27, Mai Hung Dung, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, attended an video conference to discuss the friendly cooperation between Binh Duong province and Veneto Region, Emilia-Romagna (Italy) and Italian investment promotion into Binh Duong. Participants of the conference were leaders of departments, branches, Management Board of industrial zones of Binh Duong province, Becamex IDC, and Italian Consul General in HCM City. Endpoints in Italy had the participation of Nguyen Thi Bich Hue, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Italy; Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Emilia-Romagna Region; Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Veneto Region; Italy - Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Torino, and about 100 Italian investors.
Mai Hung Dung and representatives of Binh Duong provincial administration organs witnessed the online signing of the memorandum of understanding.
At the conference, Mr. Mai briefly introduced the socio-economic development status of Binh Duong in recent years. Tthe province has made efforts to improve competitiveness, constantly improves investment environment through improvement of socio-economic infrastructure system. Provincial leaders at all levels are always interested in promptly solving difficulties and obstacles of businesses, creating favorable conditions for investors and businesses to develop production, business activities and investment cooperation.
Binh Duong currently has 8 investment projects of Italian enterprises with a total capital of nearly 64 million USD; Italia is ranked 29th out of 65 countries and territories having investment projects in the province. At the conference, representatives of Italian companies and investors also learnt about Binh Duong Smart City; discussed investment opportunities of the province.
Closing of the conference, Mr. Mai hoped that in 2021 and following years, Binh Duong would continue to receive active cooperation and support from Emilia-Romagna Regional Government, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Emilia-Romagna Region, and Italy - Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Torino, Vietnamese Embassy in the Italian Republic, Italian Consulate General in HCM City, and European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam to improve bilateral cooperation, expand multilateral cooperation in order for Binh Duong to create breakthroughs in international integration.
At the conference, there was also an online signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Becamex IDC and Federations of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Veneto Region, Emilia-Romagna Region, and Italy - Vietnam Chamber of Commerce.
