GHS labeling and classification training course held for enterprises

February 19, Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with Vietnamese Association of Chemistry, Japanese Economics and Trade Ministry, and Association of Oversea Technical Scholarship (AOTS) to hold a training course on labeling and classifying chemicals under Global Harmony System (GHS) for 70 enterprises from inside and outside of the province (in photo).

Along with the development of the industry, the need to use chemicals for industrial production activities is increasing rapidly in both quantity and category. So far, Binh Duong is one of the provinces that use the largest chemicals in the country and variety of types. Chemicals are present in almost all industrial production activities in Binh Duong such as: Electronics, wood processing, garment, leather shoes, textile dyeing, plating, paint production, inorganic fertilizer production export plant protection drugs, rubber latex processing, steel sheet production, battery manufacturing, cosmetic and pharmaceutical production.

GHS is the United Nations global system for chemical classification and labeling. The training for enterprises on classification and labeling of chemicals under the GHS System has important implications, contributing to strengthening the management of chemical safety in the province.
