Sci-tech transfer strengthened

Over the past time, the “Good farmer in production-business” emulation movement in the district has actually created positive changes in economic development. Implementing the emulation movement, the district’s Farmers’ Society and its branches carried out many practical support activities on job generation, consumption market, sci-tech transfer…for members. Between 2014 and 2017, along with loan disbursement, the society worked with relevant agencies, companies…to organize 468 training courses on sci-tech transfer in cultivation and animal husbandry for more than 32,100 members.
The district’s Farmers’ Society also joined hands with relevant units to spend more than VND5billion on setting up tentative points on animal husbandry and cultivation; organize 85 vocational training courses on how to plant and tend various rubber trees, orchids, ornamental trees…for 1,284 officials and members; take the local typical agricultural, home industrial products to expos in and out of the province.
Production emulation and poverty reduction
Le Van Anh, Vice-Chairwoman of Dau Tieng district’s Farmers’ Association said that the “Good farmer in production-business” emulation movement has contributed to promoting the local targets on socio-economic development. From the emulation movement, there are many effective models reported in the district, namely Nguyen Thi Minh Tan’s Tan Hung mushroom embryo farm in Long Hoa commune; Tong Van Huong’s general cultivation and animal husbandry farm in Minh Hoa commune; Vu Thi Tuat’s swallow breeding model in association with purchasing rubber latex and raising dairy cows…
Apart from economic development, good farmers in the district have created jobs for nearly 3,260 laborers. Especially, the “Good farmer in production-business” emulation movement has helped 66 members escape poverty, contributing to decreasing the rate of the local households under the province’s poverty line.
Possibly speaking, the “Good farmer in production-business” emulation movement in the district has created a motivation for members to make contributions to the national target program on new rural construction. Accordingly, the district’s Farmers’ Association and its branches mobilized officials, members and farmers to contribute 4,604 working days, more than VND7.98trillion to building and upgrading 121.5 kilometers of roads.
The district’s “Good farmer in production-business” emulation movement has not only improved the life of farmers, made the restructuring of agriculture under the local project on agriculture-rural development for the period of 2016-2020, but also contributed to creating more achievements in the local economic development and new rural construction. This is also a driving force for the local people to uphold their capacity and creativeness in order to rise up and integrate in the new context.
