Early November 25, provincial People’s Committee kicked off the Hackathon competition 2017 at Eastern International University. Attending the event were Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly delegation; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Steering Board of the Binh Duong smart city project; Nguyen Van Hung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, CEO of Becamex IDC together with leaders of sectors, departments and 300 candidates from 74 teams.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Liem stressed that the competition aims to seek and honor creative and innovative ideas that are concretized by products relating the fields of traffic, culture, environment, healthcare, education…to improve the quality of people’s life. With the above significance, it is hoped that the competition will choose excellent ideas and useful solutions to serve the common benefits of the community; especially basic ones in synchronous investment and development in all aspects, creating the premise for Binh Duong to soon become a smart city.
*The same day, provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to open the 2017 exhibition for sci-tech businesses, absorbing 32 units with 44 booths.
Addressing the ceremony, Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Steering Board of the Binh Duong smart city project emphasized that this was a chance for businesses to introduce their hi-tech products, IT applications and ones under the trend of the fourth industrial revolution while being a place to show young people, business startup groups’ creative and innovative ideas by putting forward theories and practices in building up a Binh Duong city with sustainable development, contributing to carrying out the local major programs.
He also hoped that with the efforts by the local government and relevant sides, Binh Duong will become a destination for hi-tech businesses with constant innovation and creativeness, bringing a civilized and modern life to locals and promoting the process of developing Binh Duong into a smart city by 2021.
