Many years ago, while the concept of social housing and houses for low incomers was not known, Hai Long Company invested in building houses for sale. Specifically, from the demand of laborers working at Song Than IP and neighboring areas, in 2004, the company built Song Than Plaza at Song Than IP in Di An district. The project included 6 storeys including 205 apartments, pricing at VND5-5,3mil per apartment. After a short time, these apartments were sold out.
Since the success, the company built a 12-floor Hoang Long tenement with 125 apartments, pricing at VND5.5-5.7mil per apartment one year later. In 2008, the company continued building An Binh trade center in Di An district including 460 apartments. All of its apartments were sold out after a short time. The above success of the company has contributed to satisfy housing for low incomers and solve pressure on housing at industrial parks.
Aside from building trade centers and tenement houses for low incomers, Hai Long Company has built a supermarket named BD Mart. Over the past 5 years, BD Mart system has developed into 6 supermarkets covering across districts and townships. Aside from providing goods, BD Mart often brings goods to remote areas with hi-quality and cheap price commodities.
A unit leading in price stability
Hai Long Company is a positive unit responding the movement of price stability on holidays. In the 2009 Lunar New Year 2009 and 2010, BD Mart offered goods with stable prices of about 100 essential items.
The company director Huynh Thi Thanh Xuan, said BD Mart stored a large number of goods to offer customers, contributing to stabilize prices.
According to the provincial department of Trade and Industry, after 2 years of implementing the program of price stability, BD Mart excelled the program. The good deed has met local residents’ shopping demand on holidays and prevented price increase in the locality.
Through the program, BD Mart has brought a large number of commodities to remote areas on holidays with a 10-15% discount.
Apart from efficiency of business, Hai Long Company has involved in social activities of building houses and granting gifts for the poor with the total value of over VND800mil and donating VND50mil to the national Linking Arms program and so on.
