Hallmark of Becamex IDC in FDI attraction

From initial obstacles after being re-established, Binh Duong province has so far become one of the country’s top localities in FDI attraction. And Becamex IDC has made great contributions to the local common development.

Leading in Ips infrastructure development

During its development process, Becamex IDC has created a vital hallmark in synchronous infrastructure construction, making regional connectivity and helping Binh Duong province absorb more investment projects.

In 1997, Binh Duong province was re-established together with the birth of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP). This is the cooperation between Becamex IDC and a consortium of three companies from Singapore led by SembCorp Group. So far, the VSIP model has been developed in many other localities nationwide. Possibly speaking, the province and Becamex IDC has been proactive to develop infrastructure facilities to absorb more investors. After 20 years of development, Becamex IDC has become Vietnam’s top industrial infrastructure developer. Ips invested by Becamex IDC have to date attracted 970 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than US$14billion.

Fukuyama Masafumi, Chief Representative of Japan’s NTT Group, one of the world’s huge post-telecommunications groups said that he has spoken highly of foundations for foreign investors in the province.

It is known that Becamex IDC is now a partner of the world’s leading groups, namely  NTT, Tokyu of Japan, Humburg of the US…To achieve this, Becamex IDC has made efforts in building up a fully-constituted ecosystem for investors. All Ips invested by Becamex IDC have always had association with urban development in order to ensure connectivity from industry to service-society, creating a good living environment at investors and laborers’ needs. Particularly, Binh Duong new city under Becamex IDC has played a great role in the local planning and development with a long-term vision. Besides, Becamex IDC is always ready for supporting foreign investors.

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that Becamex IDC is seen as a main unit in developing infrastructure facilities of Ips. It has also well realized coherence between domestic and foreign investors, creating a cooperation chain in production-business.

Long-term vision

At the national conference on 30 years of FDI attraction just held by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, ministries and central sectors learnt from experience in FDI attraction, which has been implemented by Becamex IDC in Binh Duong for a long time. Along with this success, Becamex IDC has continued carrying out many vanguard projects in the future.

Till now, Ips invested by Becamex IDC have encouraged enterprises to ensure their production meeting standards on environmental safety and energy saving. Over the past time, Becamex IDC concentrated on urban development to realize the province’s goal of becoming a first-class city by 2020 towards a smart city in the future.

In fact, smart projects implemented by Becamex IDC have created changes to the province. Particularly, the Becamex-Tokyu bus project is seen as a demonstration for firm and drastic strides of Becamex IDC in building the future of the province. With achievements done, Becamex IDC has made great contributions to FDI attraction of the province.

It is known that at the 2018 Global Innovation Forum just held, Becamex IDC and Japan’s Association of Science-Technology Industries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the fields of science-technology, human resource training, traffic, logistics and smart city development.
