This is the confidence of Nguyen Van Ai (photo) residing in Dau Tieng township’s quarter 1 in Dau Tieng district.
Currently, he is well-known as a successful farmer with the model of breeding snake-head mullets and hemibagruses with high economic efficiency. He has just been awarded the title of “Good farmer in production and business” in the 2012-2014 period by provincial Farmers Association.
The farmer said that he has got involved in the model of breeding freshwater fish since 2007. Every year, he can secure nearly VND400mln in profit from the model.
It is known that he has only focused on breeding snake-head mullets and hemibagruses as they are two kinds of favorite fish by people. There is a difference in terms of breeding time and methods for each kind. For snake-head mullets, they will be harvested after 6 or 7 month-breeding. Hemibagruses will give breeders harvest after being harvested from one year to one year and a half.
The farmer now has a lot of experience in breeding freshwater fish after 7 years of getting involved in the model. Noticeably, he is always ready for sharing experience on how to breed freshwater fish, especially snake-head mullets and hemibagruses with other farmers with the hope of helping them secure a stable life from the animal husbandry model.
