Besides rubber tapping, most young people in Hieu Liem commune, North Tan Uyen district work for agricultural production. As a result, the commune’s Youth Union established a youth union branch of good production to facilitate developing production and business from the youth.
At the present, the youth union of good production has 12 members. The branch opens annually training courses, seminars for its members; cooperates with Social Policy Bank to support members in taking out loans with an amount of VND10mln/young one; launches movements of breeding stocks, plants supporting.

Hieu Liem commune’s Youth Union Deputy Secretary Nguyen Van Khanh said, joining the branch, members would be learned more about planting techniques according to VietGAP standard from experiential farmers. Some young people have improved their farms to have higher yields and receive stable incomes as well as better their family’ living standards. Some , for example Nguyen Xuan Liem, Nguyen Minh Thuan, were awarded title of “Excellent young farmer”.
Nguyen Xuan Liem said, the foundation of this branch has facilitated experience exchange, mutual learning. To young farmer Liem, after participating in this branch, he has developed efficiently his family business. Thanks to his pomelo orchard, his annual revenue is VND500mln.
Nguyen Van Khanh said: “Since establishment, the branch has achieved encouraging results. However, production has been faced with difficulties, e.g. unstable output. In the future, the branch will continue to assist young people in enhance family economy, enrich themselves, contribute to building up the country”.
