Binh Duong is now home to four hi-tech agricultural parks, including the 400-ha An Thai hi-tech agricultural park in Phu Giao district’s An Thai commune; the 97ha-Tien Hung hi-tech agricultural park in Tan Uyen district’s Hieu Liem commune; the 470-ha hi-tech based dairy cow breeding park in Phu Giao district’s two communes of Tan Hiep and Phuoc Sang and the 80ha-hi-tech poultry breeding park in Tan Uyen district’s Vinh Tan commune.

The An Thai hi-tech agricultural park is an exemplary role model with Israel’s biological technologies applied in production under the automatic formula to gain the best results. As of late 2011, the park developed more than 80 hectares of vegetables, fruits, ornamental trees and herbs, in which many models brought good results with the profit reaching hundreds of millions of dong per hectare per crop.
Most of the park’s products are present in the domestic market via supermarket chains such as Metro, Saigon Co.op, Big C…They have also been introduced to foreign markets of Japan, South Korea…
In addition to the above hi-tech agricultural production projects, farmers in Binh Duong have got involved in developing the hi-tech based agricultural production models. Nguyen Van Dep in Ben Cat district’s Phu An commune is an exemplary role in this field. He has learn to develop the model of growing cucumber and tomato with automatic watering system and net-covered house on a 2,000sqm area. As a result, his farmstead has generated hi-quality products at customers’ demand.

One of Binh Duong’s big advantages is well-developed traffic infrastructure, facilitating the transport of materials and products at the local hi-tech agricultural parks. The birth of many food processing factories has also contributed to creating a competitive advantage in the product consumption process of the local hi-tech agricultural parks
Pham Thi Huan, Director of Ba Huan Co.Ltd. said that she decided to select Binh Duong to build a hi-tech poultry breeding farmstead because of favorable conditions on soil, weather and transport.
Farmers in Binh Duong have also attached special importance to sci-tech advancements in production. Hence, the province’s policies to encourage the shift from traditional farming methods to hi-tech ones have received enthusiastic response from the local farmers.
It is known that one of the important programs to be implemented by the local hi-tech agricultural parks is to build up “satellites”. Accordingly, farmer households will be the “satellites” of the local hi-tech agricultural parks for cooperation in goods production and consumption, helping them raise their income and receive sci-tech advancements in production.
