Increasing attraction to high-tech industry

Binh Duong is determined to realize the goal of becoming a centrally-governed city by 2030; one of the dynamic and comprehensive development centers of Southeast Asia and a leader in science, technology, innovation, and a modern industrial and service center. Accordingly, Binh Duong focuses on attracting investment to develop high-tech industry in the new period.

Strengthening international cooperation 

With the desire to expand cooperation with foreign enterprises to promote investment cooperation in the high-tech sector, in the first days of the new year 2025, a delegation of Binh Duong province led by Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, visited and worked in China. Within the framework of the working trip, the delegation visited Anhui, one of the dynamically developing provinces of China.

Mr. Sun Dun, Vice Governor of Anhui , said that Anhui is a major manufacturing center with key industries such as machinery, electronic equipment, and automobile manufacturing. Anhui is also China's largest automobile exporting province. Mr. Mai Hung Dung said that Anhui Province has strengths in industrial production, information technology, and energy. Binh Duong hopes that Anhui Province will support and cooperate; at the same time, he called on Anhui Province enterprises to invest in Binh Duong's concentrated information technology park in the coming time.

During the working trip, Binh Duong and Anhui provinces signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation and friendly exchanges between the two localities. Accordingly, the two provinces will cooperate in the fields of economics, science - technology, innovation, trade, agriculture, logistics, education, culture, sports, tourism, etc. to promote common development based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit, within the legal framework of each country. The two localities also encourage and create conditions for businesses to invest and cooperate with each other.

According to the provincial leaders, taking advantage of strengths and opportunities to effectively attract investment, in 2025 Binh Duong will continue to promote economic foreign affairs activities, enhance investment cooperation, consolidate and develop friendly cooperative relationships with localities and foreign partners. In particular, Binh Duong focuses on learning and studying models of high-tech industrial development, automation, smart factories and advanced manufacturing technology from developed countries.

Create new gravity

At a recent working session with provincial leaders, Mr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Chairman of Sunwah Group, expressed his delight at leading a delegation of nearly 40 business leaders from the Greater Bay Area (including 9 major cities of Guangdong Province and 2 special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau) to Binh Duong to learn about the business and investment environment and seek cooperation opportunities. Mr. Jonathan Choi said that Binh Duong is a rapidly developing province of Vietnam and wishes to explore investment cooperation in the province, especially in the fields of high technology, healthcare, education, real estate, etc.

It is known that Hong Kong alone is currently ranked 7th among 65 countries and territories investing in the province, with a total registered investment capital of nearly 2.75 billion USD. Notably, in 2024, Hong Kong is the 2nd largest foreign investor in Binh Duong, with nearly 342 million USD, after Singapore.

According to Mr. Konosuke Yoshii, Director of Business Development Vietnam, Business Division of IHI Group and Director of International Business Development, Infrastructure Division of IHI Group (Japan), IHI is a heavy industry group operating in many fields and has had many effective projects in Vietnam. The Group highly appreciates the economic development potential of Binh Duong. IHI is particularly impressed with the Binh Duong Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, with methodical analysis and plans to turn Binh Duong into a leading center of industry, services, science - technology and innovation in Southeast Asia. IHI wishes to participate in the dynamic development process of Binh Duong, focusing on the fields of transport infrastructure and high technology.

The leaders of IHI Group affirmed that the group's recent investment projects in Vietnam are one of the group's strong commitments to Binh Duong regarding the effectiveness of the investment process and cooperation between the two sides.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Permanent Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that in order to develop sustainable and in-depth industry, in the coming time, Binh Duong will continue to prioritize the development of high technology, clean technology, and electronics industry; prioritize resources for the development of planned industrial parks and clusters in the direction of concentrating on a number of specialized industrial parks and clusters; attract investment in technological innovation in the direction of "greening" to be environmentally friendly, reasonable, and sustainable. At the same time, Binh Duong will also promote cooperation programs with domestic and foreign partners to share experiences, transfer technology, and expand markets.

Binh Duong is actively expanding and upgrading existing industrial parks, while developing new industrial parks to attract foreign investment. The focus is on Binh Duong developing green, smart industrial parks with the ability to provide 4.0 technology platforms such as IoT, Big data... to help investors easily deploy smart factory models, smart production quickly and effectively, contributing to increasing the province's labor productivity. Binh Duong is implementing steps to build a concentrated Information Technology Park and a High-Tech Park with an area of ​​220 hectares, preparing infrastructure to welcome high-tech investors and semiconductor industry.
