After 41 years of development, the province’s sector of industry and trade has constantly grown up in all aspects, greatly contributing to the cause of local construction and development.
Efforts to surmount difficulties
Thanks to the integral efforts by all staff, the province’s sector of industry and trade surmounted difficulties and reached robust growth during the 41 past years.

The sector’s structure also saw strong changes from exploiting, consuming crude materials to processing products, raising their value over the past time. So far, province-based enterprises’ efficiency of production and business has been improved a lot. Many enterprises have worked very stably. Many products of the sector have also held a large market share and won faith of clients at home and abroad. In addition, some local traditional crafts of pottery, lacquer…have been restored, generating jobs for locals and increasing their income. In the 2011-2015 period alone, the sector’s task of mobilizing resources for infrastructure construction was implemented as oriented. The sector’s implementation of national target programs also gained positive results. For example, there are now 99.97% of the local households in use of power.
Such these apart, the sector has excelled at market control and made efforts in the fight against smuggling, fake and poor-quality commodities, contributing to protecting true producers, customers’rights and interests.
Hall of trade infrastructure
At the meetings on the local trade-service development held over the past time, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee spoke highly of the efforts by the sector in building up a good trade infrastructure system. The province’s trade-service activities have till now got more diversified, ensuring an aquadate supply of essential commodities for locals. The province has also fostered a civilized and modern goods distribution system…
The province is now home to thousands of trading facilities with the participation of economic sectors together with 105 markets, 11 supermarkets and 5 plazas. The participation of domestic and foreign investors, namely Lotte, Aeon, Co.opMart…in this field has contributed to stimulating demand and facilitating locals’ shopping.
The sector has also attached special importance to market stabilization activities. In 2015 alone, the sector set up a price-stabilized goods distribution system with plenty of mobile points selling goods, market-days of “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”…organized across the province, catering locals’ demand for shopping.
Nguyen Thi Dien, former Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade said that over the past time, the sector had dialogues with industries’ associations and enterprises in the province, helping them remove difficulties for better production and business. In the current integration situation, the connection between concerned agencies and the business community is a necessary deed for better competitiveness.
In the coming time, the sector will further promote emulation movements; simultaneously focus on well realizing tasks improving capacity over management, efficiency of production-business, administrative reform…Possibly speaking, thanks to the integral efforts by all staff, the sector overcame obstacles and reaped considerable results over the past time, significantly contributing to the local common development.
It is known that on May 14, 1951, President Ho Chi Minh signed a decree to change the name of the Economic Ministry to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The date was made the sector’s traditional anniversary under the Prime Minister’s Decision No.1418/QD-TTG dated October 2, 2008.
