Over the past 5 years, Ben Cat town reached a synchronous investment in socio-economic infrastructure, connecting the Southern Key Economic Zone and Binh Duong. This was seen as a driving force for the town’s economic growth.

Ben Cat town over time attached special importance to infrastructure construction and considered this as a motivation for the local economic development. The province’s key works like those of upgrading 7A street, DT744 street, Ong Co bridge, Thoi An bridge…were implemented in the town with a total investment capital of more than VND1trillion.

During the past 5 years, the town also spent VND849.881bln from State budget on building 207 works. Businesses’ investment capital for industrial parks’ infrastructure, residential areas, DT741 street…also amounted to more than VND2trillion. Since its inception as a town, Ben Cat has had a total of 92 rural and urban roads built with a total investment capital of more than VND81bln.
Nguyen Hong Khanh, Chairman of Ben Cat town’s People’s Committee said that since being upgraded into a town, Ben Cat has bent on making urban rejuvenation works and key ones, including those of upgrading Tan Du crossroads, town’s Convention Center-Square, My Phuoc ward’s April 30, Hung Vuong streets…They are also the town’s practical works in celebration of Party Congresses at all levels towards the 12th National Party Congress.
He added that works build over the past time contributed to helping Ben Cat town’s image get cleaner and more beautiful, creating a bound for the local socio-economic development.
Building up modern and civilized urban areas
Over the past 5 years, Ben Cat town submitted a project on South Ben Cat urban area with 1/10,000 scale into provincial People’s Committee for approval and it was recognized as a fourth-class city by the Ministry of Construction.
The town also fulfilled a plan on new rural construction in communes of Chanh Phu Hoa, Phu An, An Tay and An Dien; simultaneously ratified detail plans for town-based residential and urban areas…In addition, the town is completing contents for implementation of its overall plan on socio-economic development in the 2015-2020 period…
Regarding urban rejuvenation, Ben Cat town upgraded streets and installed lighting systems on rural and urban streets from State budget. The local people also contributed more than VND1.34trillion to the domain. Moreover, the local functional agencies attached special importance to environmental hygiene, power and water supply. There are now more than 99% of city dwellers in use of clean water and national powder grid…
To be corresponding to the scale of a civilized and modern urban area, contributing to fulfilling a goal of developing Binh Duong into a city under the central management by 2020, Ben Cat town will upgrade streets in wards; make phased investment in 3 communes of Phu An, An Dien and An Tay in association with criteria of the new rural construction program; plan to build key streets towards an uninterrupted traffic network, creating advantageous conditions for people’s traveling, goods transportation as well as building up a more spacious urban image.
“The town will immediately focus on working out the North My Phuoc belt street, Do 2 bridge, the street along Thi Tinh river; upgrading 2-9 street connected with the local industrial parks, connecting it with neighboring localities through main streets like Highway 13, DT744, DT748, DT741 streets…”, Mr.Khanh said.
