A seminar on macro-economic management challenges was held in Hanoi on July 23 by the Ministry of Finance and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Well-known Japanese professors Ariyoshi and Kaizoji shared experiences in how to liberalize the financial system, and what liberalizing a capital account means, as well as challenges and lessons drawn from the bubble economy and global economic crisis in the 2000s.
Tsuno Motonori, chief representative of the JICA Office in Vietnam, pointed to the fact that it is more difficult to develop proper and timely macro policies due to the complicated situations at home and abroad. By sharing the experiences of other countries, including Japan, JICA hopes to help Vietnam settle urgent public investment and financial management issues.
