Since its inception, the fund has received 54 projects of borrowing capital sources to build waste water system, purchase dump trucks. Accordingly, 25 projects, capitalized at VND47bil from 21 businesses have been accepted. The fund has so far collected over VND10bil in original debts.
Phan Thi Hoa, director of the Fund said beneficiaries of financial assistance are organizations, individuals, businesses who have programs or projects of environmental protection. The fund’s financial assistance form includes provision of preferential loans. If meeting required conditions, all activities relating to waste water, exhaust fumes and solid waste treatments, production of environmentally friendly products or re-cycled products enjoy low interest loans.
The fund has thus far offered loans with preferential rate of about 5.6% per year within duration of 5 years for investors.
In addition, the fund in cooperation with agencies and localities sponsors activities relating to environmental protection.
“Any businesses that have environmental protection projects in the province can approach the preferential loans. We are ready to facilitate businesses’ capital borrowing. However, the current difficulties lie in shortage of fund source and businesses’ mortage assets. Therefore, many businesses are in real demand on capital borrowing but we can not help them”, said Hoa.
Though it is difficult to approach capital sources amid the current difficulties, enjoying a long-term capital source with preferential rate is a joyful signal for businesses.
