In June 2016, Thuan An town’s Lai Thieu ward sorted out Phan Dinh Phung and August Revolution streets to develop into green-clean-beautiful ones. After two months of implementing this, the ward reached some positive results in ensuring the local traffic safety and urban order.
Positive changes
With locals’ consensus, Lai Thieu ward’s police in collaboration with the town’s functional forces and executive boards of quarters made 44 patrols over the construction of Phan Dinh Phung and August Revolution green-clean and beautiful streets. The local functional forces penalized 98 wrong cases with a total fine of more than VND26million; temporarily seized 31 motorbikes, 19 signboards, 179 relevant documents…
Pham Phu Nam, Chairman of Lai Thieu ward’s People’s Committee said that the ward over the past time called for locals to join hands in constructing civilized streets and quarters. Thanks to this, the situation of traffic safety and urban civilization on streets of the ward, especially 2 model streets Phan Dinh Phung and August Revolution, reached positive changes.
He affirmed that the local functional forces’ proper inspection and settlement over the past time not only contributed to admonishing and raising public awareness of the Law on Road Traffic and urban order, but also facilitated locals’ travelling and goods exchange, promoting the local socio-economic development.
Towards civilized urban construction
As surveyed, residents in Lai Thieu ward and visitors are very excited when seeing obvious changes about traffic safety and urban civilization from 2 model streets Phan Dinh Phung and August Revolution.
Nguyen Thi Thao, a resident in the ward said that eating-drinking and trading services have loomed large on the 2 streets, facilitating locals’ shopping. But, there were previously many problems on traffic order and safety here. The situation is now improved a lot.
Leaders of Lai Thieu ward said that apart from the above 2 model streets, the situation of traffic safety and urban order on other main streets of the ward have recently had positive changes. But, there are still mistakes for change.
In a bid to uphold results done and redress existing difficulties, according to Mr.Nam, from now till year-end, the ward will set up a list of households trading in services along the local streets while seriously handling infringements. The ward will also require the local functional forces to well realize a task of restoring urban traffic order…
