Local banking system bustling on the first days of New Year

After holidays of the New Year 2015, demand on payment and transaction via credit organizations increases strongly. However, most of the local credit organizations are ready to serve timely for clients’ demand.

Transaction demand increasing

Dang Ngoc Binh, in Thanh Loi quarter, An Thanh ward, Thuan An town, the client of Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam’s Binh Duong branch (BIDV) said that his child is studying in the US, so he wants to send money to his child soon. However, the number of clients implementing transaction at the bank is very crowd on the first days of the New Year 2015 after the holiday. He said “In the past, I only waited for 3 minutes for transaction but today I have to wait longer, owing to many clients under transaction. However, I remain happy because BIDV employees enthusiastically counsel procedures for me rapidly”.

Waiting in many hours is the common situation at many banks on the first days of the New Year 2015, owing to stagnancy of clients’ demand on transaction during the past holiday. Therefore, at banks such as Agribank, Vietcombank, Sacombank and more there are many clients waiting for transaction.

Tran Ngoc Linh, director of BIDV Binh Duong said that the Lunar New Year 2015 is approaching, many clients want to complete transaction at banks soon. At this moment, corporate clients implement transaction relating to debts, payment, money transfer while individual clients transfer money to their relatives in homeland and local administration units, departments and sectors carry out budget collection, expenditure and tax payment and more. Therefore, transaction on these days increased about one third compared with the previous days. However, the transaction will continue to rise in the coming days.

Well meeting financial demand

Year-end is the peak time of shopping. Along with shopping demand for Tet holiday, demand on cash using, transaction, payment via banks also increases along. Therefore, aside from mapping out plans of transaction, banks set up specialized groups to take care of clients.

Tran Ngoc Linh said that in order to ensure ATM system under smooth operation, BIDV mapped out plans to prepared thoroughly for finance, personnel, technique. Accordingly, BIDV accelerated to reserve about 20-30% of cash compared to the ordinary days.

In addition, BIDV spurred teams to offer cash at ATM booths to cater for clients’ demand on money withdraw.

As for technical infrastructure, BIDV checked and supplemented facilities to ensure well service of ATM system and simultaneously maintained ATM booths’ well operation.

Recently, BIDV installed 4 ATM Autobank booths across populous residential areas in Thu Dau Mot city, Ben Cat town in a bid to cater for client around the clock. “With 78 ATM booths installed throughout the province, BIDV always makes greater efforts to serve for clients with the best service”, Linh affirmed.

In order to minimize difficulties during cash supply at ATM booths, local banks have focused on maintaining, monitoring ATM equipment. Meanwhile, according to Vietcombank, aside from thorough preparation for maintaining ATM booths, the bank mobilized employees to support internal and transactional parts as well as timely repair and improve problems relating to ATM booths. Specifically, VIetcombank, Agribank, Sacombank and more always assign employees to solve problems relating usage of banking service.
