Local ceramics-porcelain sector focuses on improving quality

In 2018, Vietnam’s ceramics and porcelain sector reached around US$450million in export value, 50% of which came from Binh Duong province. It is predicted that the sector will enjoy more advantages in 2019 when the Southeast Asian market is expanded.

Getting animated with orders in early this year

Before the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2019,  province-based ceramics and porcelain enterprises got orders till December 27 of lunar calendar. Phuoc Vu Long Ceramics-Porcelain Company was a typical example for this. The company exported 15 containers of products into its partners, which was seen as a good sign for the local ceramics and porcelain sector.

Ly Ngoc Bach, Director of Cuong Phat Company said that export value now accounts for 80% of the company’s total revenue. In recent years, Binh Duong’s ceramics-porcelain sector has always maintained the annual growth at 10%. This is considered as a great effort of the province amids the country’s ceramics-porcelain sector facing severe competitiveness from other countries like Thailand, China

Bravely improving production technologies

According to statistics, the Southeast Asian market in 2018 accounted for 24% of Vietnam’s export value of ceramics-porcelain products. It was followed by the US with 20%, European Union with more than 16%, Japan with 16%...

Mr.Bach said that Binh Duong’s ceramics-porcelain products have diverse designs and sophisticated patterns with unique features. Over the past time, they were one of the province’s main export products with renown brands, namely Minh Long, Cuong Phat, Phuoc Du Long…Currently, province-based ceramics-porcelain enterprises attach special importance to improving their production technologies for better quality.

Over the past time, many ceramics-porcelain enterprises bravely invested in the state-of-the-art production technologies to improve products’ quality for better competitiveness. Minh Long, Cuong Phat, Phuoc Du Long…are now among the province’s top ceramics-porcelain enterprises with good competitiveness in the international arena.

According to provincial Ceramics-Porcelain Association, ceramics-porcelain industry is among the province’s top 20 export industries. The sector now reaches around US$200million in annual export value and VND70million in domestic revenue. For better development, province-based ceramics-porcelain enterprises need to keep up with consumption taste, diversify patterns and innovate technologies to improve products’ quality for stable and long-term evolution in the coming time.
