In the firtst half of 2019, Dau Tieng district’s economy reached the growth of over 10% compared to the same period last year. The district’s hi-tech agricultural models step by step obtained sustainable development.
Sci-tech application promoted
Dau Tieng district has implemented a plan on agro-forestry and fishery development to 2020 and visition to 2030. As a result, the district’s animal husbandry sector has obtained stable growth. The district’s hi-tech agricultural models under VietGAP standards have continued upholding their efficiency and been multipfied widely.
Since early this year, the district’s functional agencies have made periodic inspection tours over a model of saving irrigation for fruit trees at 3 points in Thanh An commune…The district’s Division of Economics has also coordinated with the district’s Market Control Team No.3, Animal Husbandry-Veterinary Station and Health Center to inspect food producing and trading facilities before and after the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2019, thereby handling 6 wrong cases with total fine of more than VND5.7million.
Over the past six months, the district’s People’s Committee said ok to 4 pig-breeding facilities in Long Hoa commune, 3 chicken-breeding facilities in An Lap, Long Tan, Minh Hoa communes and 1 dairy cow-breeding facility in Long Tan commune.
The district’s Division of Economy said that along with good results over the past six months, the district faced obstables on capital disbursement, illegal construction…for change.
Towards sustainable development
As planned, the district will realize 2 methods for the remaining 6 months: “Building a model on saving irrigation for fruit trees in 2019” and “Developing a model on household-based mushroom growing in 2019”. The district is also surveying to realize hi-tech agricultural models on some plants like vegetables, rock melon…under the local Party Committee’s Plan No.18/KH-UBND dated February 10, 2017 on agricultural and rural development for 2017-2020. In addition, the district will continue carrying out a plan on restructuring of agriculture, a project on developing areas specialized in growing fruit trees in Thanh Tuyen commune, a plan on agro-forestry-fishery development to 2025, vision to 2030…
For agricultural products flying further, the district will grant certificates on food safety and hygiene to agro-forestry and fishery facilities with conditions as stipulated; further survey and say ok to places meeting conditions for construction of animal husbandry facilities; carry out inspection tours on food safety for sectors of agriculture, trade and industry in 2019; team up with provincial Deparment of Science and Technology to hold a training course on intellectual property under provincial program on intellectual asset development for the 2017-2020 period.
The district will also promote the VietGAP model, especially in areas strongly developing fruit trees. The district’s functional sectors will join hands with the Center for Sustainable Agricultural Development and Research to further implement the phase 3 of sci-tech application for construction of an intensive farming model for cirus fruit trees under VietGap standards and linkage from production to consumption in Minh Hoa, Minh Thanh communes. Especially, the district has boosted market development for mangosteen right after this kind of fruit tree was granted the certificate of “collective trademark”.
