Long Nguyen rubber plantation is now home to 872 staffs and manages 2,419 ha of rubber. Tran Minh Chanh, Secretary of Long Nguyen rubber plantation’s Party Committee said that 2010 was a successful year of the plantation in making production-business activities and taking care of the lives of workers with an average income of more than VND10mln per capita per month. This was also the sixth consecutive year the plantation maintained the average productivity of 2 tons/ha. And the plantation fulfilled its plan 11 days earlier than planned with a total output beyond 7% of the plan.
Between 2001 and 2009, the target of the plantation was to exploit more than 4,000 tons of rubber latex per year. To achieve this target, the plantation’s staffs proposed and applied a lot of effective measures with the average output increasing by 11%-12% per year. So far, many sci-tech initiatives in exploiting and processing rubber latex have been successfully applied by the plantation’s staffs, contributing to raising the rubber latex quality and output of the corporation.
The plantation also attached special importance to the emulation movements in production-business activities over the past 10 years. Particularly, the annual “good workers” emulation movement helped workers herein exchange mutual experience and raising their skills, contributing to promoting the development of the corporation.
Mr.Chanh said: “Long Nguyen rubber plantation’s achievement today is the merit of staffs over periods. Hence, according to their aspiration, we have made necessary documents suggesting the State for considering and awarding the title “Labor Hero in the Renewal Period” to the plantation, contributing to promoting the patriotic emulation movementsof the units nationwide in general and of the plantation in particular”.
