Long Tan gets thriving

Dau Tieng district’s Long Tan commune is changing with streets covered by asphalt and spacious houses built together with the birth of breeding facilities, affirming the local new and vigorous vitality.

Traffic infrastructure gradually perfected

Possibly speaking, the cause of new rural construction over the past time brought a new vitality to Dau Tieng district’s Tan Long commune.

Long Tan primary school

Nguyen Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of Long Tan communal People’s Committee asserted that the commune’s current results came from the efforts by the local government and people. Under the program on new rural construction, the commune focused on rural infrastructure construction with more than 30 kilometers of rural roads upgraded.

In the first half of 2018, the whole commune constructed 5 concrete paths with a total length of 905 meters, 4 gravel paths with a total length of 1,033 meters; mobilized locals to upgrade 7 rural roads of 2.6 kilometers with a total expense of more than VND2.7billion…

The commune also propagandized and mobilized locals to make environmental hygiene in association with the movement of “All people consolidate to building cultural lifestyle”. This contributed to raising public awareness of building up a greener, greener and nicer environment.

Facilitating economic development

For economic development, Long Tan commune has put forward appropriate solutions to uphold the local advantages with cultivation and animal husbandry as a spearhead for development.

Accordingly, the commune has bravely implemented a policy on switching small animal husbandry and cultivation models into farmsteads for the local development. The commune has so far developed rubber plantations of 2,572 hectares; 126 farms on animal husbandry and 1 milk cow cooperative with nearly 100 members and over 1,400 milk cows. Thanks to working effectively, these cooperatives have helped farmers get rich. There are also 2 State-run businesses and 5 private ones, generating jobs for more than 350 laborers. There total profit last year was estimated at more than VND16billion. Provincial People’s Committee has approved a project expanding the Bau Bang industrial park in the commune with 969 hectares, which is seen as a highlight for the local development in the coming time.

Noticeably, the whole commune now only has 13 poor households under the province’s new poverty line or 0.76% of total and 27 near-poor ones or 1.57% of total…The commune also introduces jobs to more than 250 laborers every year.

With the sound leadership of the local Party, government plus the efforts by the business community and locals, the commune’s annual economic growth was maintained at 16% during the period of 2015-2020. The proportion of agriculture now accounts for 59% of the local economic structure; trade-service, 35%; industrial production-construction, 6%. The average income of the local people is nearly VND50million per capita per year.

Upholding results done, the commune’s Party and government will further uphold internal forces and take advantage of external forces to fulfill criteria of the new rural construction program and direct comprehensive economic development. It is believed that with solutions in line with the local real situation, the commune will victoriously realize targets of the resolution of Party congresses at all levels.
