Implementing the 9th provincial party committee’s Resolution, the provincial party committee has built action plan No.21/CTr-TU dated July 20, 2011 on developing hi-quality service for the 2011-2015 period and vision till 2020. After over 2 years of implementation, the provincial service economy has reached many remarkable achievements.

Despite difficulties in socio-economic situation, local service economy has over the past 2 years reached many remarkable results. The growth of service in the 2011-2013 period was estimated at 21.5%. Till 2013, GDP density in service was estimated at 35.5%.
Services in finance and currency have strongly developed with 54 banks under operation in the province. Lending sale has increased rapidly whilst rate of overdue debts has been under control. Payment services via many kinds of cards have developed strongly.
In addition, the provincial investment fund has positively supported projects holding important role in local socio-economic development.
Meanwhile, customs sector has applied modern facilities into inspection work, improving publicity, transparency and accuracy. Electric procedures of customs have contributed to increase export turnover. In 2013, the entire province reaches US$14,443.2mil in export turnover, a 15.7% increase from the same period last year, winning 98% of its plans.
Trade infrastructure has renovated constantly. Over the past 2 years, the entire province has built and improved 17 markets, 4 supermarkets, 2 trade centers, dismissing unprompted markets, contributing to ensure traffic and trade civilization.
Big retailers inside and outside of the country such as Nguyen Kim, Thien Hoa, Vinatex, Coopmart, Metro Cash & Carry, Big C, Aeon, Lotte and so on have appeared in Binh Duong. Some supermarkets have held goods selling trips with stabilized prices to stabilize market.
Tourism service has showed remarkable development with annual increase in turnover. In 2013, “Lai Thieu – ripe fruit season” tourism festival was successfully held in Thuan An town. Quality of guest houses and hotels in the province has been improved.
Additionally, service of post and telecommunication has been upgraded constantly. Aside from digital television network with the standard of SD, the province has so far had IPTV-Life TV system with the standard of HD, meeting the rising demand of local people.
In the meantime, service of logistics has been developed, meeting operations of import, production and export. Over the past time, Binh Duong has lured big urban developers such as Semcorp of Singapore, Tokyu of Japan, Seta of Malaysia. Apart from investment and development of urban and housing areas, Binh Duong has upheld investment sources of urban rejuvenation, improvement of living quality. Especially, the entire province has had 6 social housing projects under use, 3 other projects under completion, winning 16.8% of social housing construction goal till 2015.

Fields of healthcare, education have been improved in quality of service. Health service has reached high quality, satisfying local people’s demand on health check-up and treatment.
Many clinics have been socialized, showing a stable operation. Hanh Phuc Hospital has met standards of Singapore whilst Columbia Asia Hospital has satisfied standards of the Southeast Asia. The province has so far had 25 medicine producers winning standard of GMP, accounting for 22.1% of the whole country.
The education and training alone have been socialized from kindergarten to university levels. 141 out of 331 state schools have reached the national standards whilst 88/91 communes, wards and townships have reached standards of secondary universalization.
Applied science and encouragement and assistance of technological renovation have been focused sharply. Quality of media, festival, art performance and so on has been improved. Hi-grade new services of project administration consultancy, assessment, measurement standard have been developed.
Socialization on areas of notary, legal consultancy and sport has been implemented well. Services in agricultural promotion, veterinary have basically met demands, contributing to form up hi-tech agricultural parks. Services in Binh Duong have showed a breakthrough development.
Vu Huy Hoang, Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Industry said that Binh Duong economy is on the right development. Especially, Binh Duong along with Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Dong Nai have led in changing economic image of the Southern key economic zone. On the way of service-industrial development, Binh Duong has showed a strong and overall growth.
