Locally-made sweets and candy are gaining more popularity by the day, especially with Tet shoppers. At most of the traditional markets in the province now are stocked with a variety of inexpensive local made commodities, thanks to an improved quality of many bakeries across the country.
On the other hand, Chinese-made products now have no takers, as people fear for their health, after a multitude of negative reports and incidents.
Le Thi Bay in Chanh My commune, Thu Dau Mot city, said “Chinese poor quality products have become Vietnamese products for exports, by using fake labels. Therefore, the best way is to choose products manufactured by Vietnamese prestigious companies”.
In reality, many customers worry about Chinese products used fake labels. The owner of Kim Phuong sweet shop on August Revolution Road, Thu Dau Mot city, said unlike the previous years, if products are not labeled concrete addresses or are labeled Chinese characters, it is difficult to sell them.
Co.opmart Binh Duong director Vo Huu Thach, said after findings of foreign made poor quality products, most of customers are vigilant to foreign made products and give priorities to local made commodities. Furthermore, customers are buying up domestic made goods more than in the past, thanks to cheaper pricing, improved quality, a wider selection, attractive packaging and appealing advertisements.
Overall, local made products are easy to sell and the rate of Vietnamese products at Co.opmart Binh Duong accounts for 95% of goods structure.
Many prime imported confectionary goods from foreign nations can be seen in abundance, yet sales have slowed substantially with consumers preferring locally made products. Also local made sweets are at least 10-20 percent cheaper than imported products. Grasping the psychology, Kinh Do Company increases its output up to about 20% with 3,800 tons of confectionery and high-grade products.
In addition, businesses focus on developing new products in conformity with customers and laborers’ demand.
Meanwhile, Bibica Company prepares about 12,000 tons of products to serve for Tet festive season. Especially, Bibica launches many high quality products used as gifts.
Possibly speaking, local businesses have bravely invested in high technology to produce high grade items. In the meantime, most of the supermarkets and trade centers have made greater efforts to maintain prices to stimulate purchasing power.
Additionally, retailers have taken advantages of all distribution channels to bring products to rural customers during Tet holiday.
