Mai Van Chanh, the “fire-keeper” of M&C Co.

Mai Van Chanh, General Director of M&C Co. said that the company’s directorate has constantly improved equipment, increased competitive ability and promoted initiatives among staff for better development. Noticeably, M&C Co. has fulfilled its entrusted tasks of 32 years out of 36 years of operation.

The company is now in such main scopes of business as: non-metal mineral exploitation; brick and tile manufacture; civil and industrial construction; real estate trade; workshops, equipment, depots for lease…with a total charter capital of VND524bln.

Overcoming difficulties in the initial period, the company’s staff have always united and tried their best to step by step consolidate and promote the development of the company. Since 1986, when centralized subsidized economy was shifted to market-based economy, the company’s directorate has proposed the motto of “Investment for existence and competitiveness” and 4 great investment programs that have been implemented in turn. These programs have helped M&C become one of the province’s top State-owned companies in the building material sector.

The company spent VND200bln on projects of the Tan Phuoc Khanh trade area in Tan Uyen district; the residential estates in Di An town and Bien Hoa city…among others between 2005 and 2009. Thanks to being invested in the right direction, the company’s products, especially building material ones, have reached positive results. The diversification of products and business scopes has also helped the company reach sharp growth in terms of revenue and profit.

In the 2006 and 2010 period, the company reached VND623.4bln in value production, up 16% of the projection; VND2.446trillion in total revenue, up 33% of the projection; VND797.5bln of total profit, up 86% of the projection and paid VND236.9bln for State budget, up 89% of the projection.

Mai Van Chanh is seen as a fire-keeper of M &C Co. In 2011, most domestic enterprises faced difficulties, due to the prolonged global economic downturn. But, under Mr.Chanh’s good leadership, M&C Co. still maintained growth with total revenue of VND297bln and total profit of VND81.3bln. The company also paid VND27.6bln for State budget.

Despite difficulties in 2012, M&C Co. has still risen up and won the title of “outstanding enterprise” with total revenue and profit estimated at VND309bln and VND88.8bln, up VND12bln and VND7.5bln compared to 2011, respectively. The company is also estimated to pay VND28bln for State budget. Especially, workers herein now enjoy the average salary of VND5.9mln per capita per month, up over 15% compared to 2011.

Regarding development orientations from 2011 to 2015, M&C Co. has further focused on promoting its strong industries in terms of brick and tile manufacture, construction and trade in B.O.T projects, real estate trade…
