In a bid to take care of laborers’lives and make a friendly working environment for them, Dau Tieng Rubber Corporation’s Trade Union has promoted the provincial Party Committee’s Action Program on implementation of the 10th Party Central Committee’s Resolution No.20-NQ-TW on “Further building up Vietnamese working class in the intensified period of national industrialization and modernization”.
Under the resolution, the company’s Trade Union have step by step upheld its role in taking care of laborers’lives and protecting their legitimate rights and interests. To Nguyen Van Minh, chairman of the company’s Trade Union, one of the regular jobs made by the company’s Trade Union is to monitor over laborers’salaries and bonuses and petition adjustment of their salary and bonus levels as stipulated.
Tran Thi Thu, a worker of Minh Tan Rubber Plantation under Dau Tieng Rubber Corporation said that all policies on salary, bonus, social-health insurance…for laborers have been timely solved by the company. The company’s Trade Union has also paid attention to organizing tours for laborers and giving them financial support for building their houses.
Particularly, in 2008, the company’s Trade Union disbursed more than VND2bln for 119 households to build their houses under installment plan. In 2009 and 2010, there were also 245 households getting VND3.9bln in loan from the company for building their houses.
The company has also set up a fund to support laborers to develop home based business with more than VND1.2bln. Annually, there are hundreds of laborers getting non-interest rate loans from this fund to develop home based business. The company now has no more households and there are 80% of well-off households.
Duong Ky Lam, deputy chief of the company’s Party Committee said that the company has over time made obvious changes in improving the spiritual and material lives of laborers. The company’s Party Committee, Directorate and Trade Union have also mapped out measures to create a harmonious relationship with laborers. And the Trade Union will act as a bridge between the company and laborers towards creating a friendly working environment…
