Mai Hoang Lien Ranch in Hoa Loc Hamlet of Minh Hoa COmmune in Dau Tieng District has now become a leading and exclusive provider of orchids in the Dong Nam Bo Region thanks to VND 9 billion of investment to the nets covering 2 ha of land for orchids to grow in a greenhouse and skillful hands of the orchid enthusiasts.

The workers are busy counting the flowers before arranging into flower bundles to deliver to customers
On our visit, Nguyen Thanh Lam, who claimed to be the owner, said tens of billions had been poured on this remote land and only the enthusiasts dare to do so.
"Love for orchids, but they have to bring back money and wealth, thus, the love is sustainable. They have both - love and prosperity," asserted Mr. Trinh Dinh Toan, who is now Chair of Minh Hoa Commune People's Committee.

Busiest traders are waiting to buy the flowers
Toan was a farmer himself and now is managing the province's largest agricultural land with his care for local people to get richer and richer.
We were surprised by the fact that Toan was unknown to the owner although he knew everything about the local inhabitants.
The Road No. 14 leading to old Cham village enables more and more people to be back and forth to Mai Hoang Lien Ranch to buy and sell. I peered on the busy boss directing his workers, making calculation and arrangement in Ho Chi Minh City.
Nguyen Thanh Lam said, this was just the start for this season at Mai Hoang Lien Ranch. At the request of the boss, about 16 people were picking out bundles of 5 flower branches each of 10 flowers in same colors and sizes.
Manager of this team said that his group must give back 1,000 bundles of orchids to the owner at market price of VND 50,000 a bundle or VND 1,000 a flower.
At th front yard, traders were awaiting for the delivery. They were from everywhere, from Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Cu Chi and even Dak Nong. They were buying orderly, who came first was offered first, others had to wait.
Mr. Bao, a trader from Binh Phuoc, said he was purchasing goods every two days, each time he would buy 150 pots of orchids.A few years ago, he bought goods from Cu Chi or Di An; however, the merchandises there were hard to sell.
Mr. Bao was holding potted orchids while explaining: "You see, the branches here are of healthy looks, very nice. Those branches shall give the finest flowers at their bloom, my customers shall be attracted.
Each orchid pot Mr. Bao had to pay VND 35,000 to the Ranch and re-sold at VND 50,000 to his customers who would be satisfied though.
It has been known that the true owner of this ranch had a real name of Mai Quoc Thai, one of the members of the Association of Orchids in Ho Chi Minh City.
He was an orchid specialist who knew how to grow and manipulate the market.
Meantime, Nguyen Thanh Lam was his son-in-law and an engineer specialized in electricity; however, the passion for flowers helped him to win an assignment by Mr. Mai Quoc Thai to manage and develop the orchid ranch in Minh Hoa.
Up to now, it has been estimated that plenty of agricultural models have earned billions of dong such as Phu An Tomato Ranch and An Thai Vegetable Farm, thus, the story of billion winners is no longer of headlines.
