According to the steering committee of National target program of new rural construction, after 4 years of implementation (2011-2015), agricultural production continued to grow steadily, farmer’s income increased. Farming sector played an important role in agricultural production. The province has 1,068 farms, with a total area of 10,698.66 hectares including 518 breeding farms, 542 planting farms, 8 general farms. Currently, the province has 1,016 hectares of crops, such as: vegetables, mushrooms, fruits, herbs, orchids, ornamental plants, greenhouse crops (hydroponic vegetables , mushrooms, orchids ...). On the other hand, high-tech breeding of swines, chickens… have brought high revenue.
Besides, the planning and construction of 4 high-tech agricultural zones has brought positive results. Many models had high profitability, such as: cantaloupe growing inside greenhouse with annual revenue of VND3 billion/hectare; banana growing with annual revenue of VND400 million/hectare; chicken, dairy cows breeding generate 30,450 million eggs/year, 2.5 million chicks/year, and 110,000 liters of milk/year.
