Many products deeply discounted to stimulate year-end shopping

To stimulate consumer demand at the end of the year, many shopping centers, supermarkets and stores in Binh Duong are holding promotional programs with deep discounts of up to 80%. Additionally, there are programs offering gifts to customers with purchase.

Many items heavily discounted

Nguyen Thi Hoang Linh, a resident of Phu My ward, Thu Dau Mot city, shared that in recent days, many brand fanpages on Facebook have continuously advertised year-end promotions. Taking advantage of these deals, she went shopping for clothes and footwear for her family members. “Normally, I will spend around VND 12 million on these shoes and clothes, but with deep discounts from promotion programs, I only spent a little over VND 5 million”, Ms. Linh said.

Similarly, Tran Ai Nhu, a resident in Thu Dau Mot city’s Chanh Nghia ward shared that during this year’s Black Friday (the discounted shopping day), she took the opportunity to buy thermal shirts and fashion dresses for herself and her family members. Each item was priced between VND500,000 and VND900,000, reduced by 50-60% compared to regular days. She also purchased shoes and sandals to send to her hometown in the central province of Quang Ngai as gifts for her relatives to use during the upcoming 2025 Lunar New Year.

Customers shopping for promotional items at Aeon Mall Binh Duong Canary Trade Center

It was observed that in recent days at Aeon Mall Binh Duong Canary, stores like Charles & Keith, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi's and Cross offered discounts of over 50%. Additionally, customers with bills over VND 3 million received either a premium luggage bag or an extra discount of 5-10% on the total purchase value. At Lotte Mart, brands such as Adidas, Calvin Klein, GAP, and Aldo also slashed prices by 50%-70% on all products. Meanwhile, MM Mega Market and Co.opMart simultaneously reduced prices by 30%-50% on various items. At some stores, namely The Gioi Di Dong, FPT and Dien May Xanh, most products were heavily discounted by up to 50%.

Promoting consumer spending

A representative of Shopee (an e-commerce platform headquartered in Singapore) shared that this year the company collaborated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to launch a program on “Shopee Joins Hands with Vietnamese Goods” from November 29 to December 1, showcasing high-quality Vietnamese products with significant discounts. Meanwhile, Lazada (an e-commerce company under the Alibaba Group) also rolled out a Black Friday program running from November 25 to December 2, offering discounts of up to 50%, free shipping and vouchers worth up to VND 400,000.

This year, as part of the E-commerce Week (from November 25 to December 1) organized by provincial Department of Industry and Trade, consumers had the opportunity to participate in the “60-Hour Vietnam Online Shopping Day – Online Friday 2024” program, running from 12:00 AM on Friday, November 29, to 12:00 PM on December 1. The program featured numerous promotional and deep-discount offers from major e-commerce platforms. Notably, the 2024 Super Promotion Month, held in Binh Duong from November 25 to December 25, provided consumers with the chance to purchase goods and services at preferential prices from businesses and stores across the province.

As a participant showcasing exemplary rural industrial products and OCOP products at Aeon Mall Binh Duong Canary Trade Center in Thuan An city, Tang Thi Hang, owner of Hieu Hang Bird's Nest production and business household shared her awareness of the responsibility to introduce and deliver high-quality, safe Vietnamese goods to consumers. This effort contributes to the effective implementation of the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”. According to her, the E-commerce Week and Super Promotion Month in Binh Duong have created a ripple effect, fostering a sense of security and trust among customers when shopping, especially for domestically produced goods in general and Binh Duong products in particular.

To stimulate domestic consumer demand, boost production and business activities, and contribute to economic recovery in the final months of the year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is organizing the “National Promotion Program 2024 – Vietnam Grand Sale 2024”. The program will run nationwide from December 2 to December 31, 2024.
