Early January 16, Board of Economics and Budget of Provincial People’s Council had a working session with Market Control Division 1 regarding the implementation of price stablization and market control during Lunar New Year 2019.

Reporting the working session, leader of Market Control Division 1 said that they had consulted with Thu Dau Mot City People’s Committee regarding the plan for focused prevention of trade cheats, smuggling, fake and poor-quality goods in a bid to stabilize the market and prices as well as foods safety assurance. Functional agencies shall be coordinated to help the public to catch up with market flow and prices of goods for Tet and to sanction actions of market disturbance. The inspection on signs of violation shall be improved in coordination with functional agencies and management boards to supervise foods and administer sanctions on poor-quality foods.
Nguyen Tam Duong, Head of Board of Economics and Budget of Provincial People’s Council requires that the division and functional agencies should construct suitable regulations on market control to prevent overlapping inspection. In the meantime, actions of making use of Tet to increase prices shall be strictly punished. After the working session, the delegation made inspection on 2 random foods retailers in Thu Dau Mot City.
