Provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem made the statement at a meeting with provincial Department of Industry and Trade on the market price stabilization program before, during and after the 2014 Tet (lunar new year) festival held on October 17.
Mr.Liem emphasized: “Provincial Department of Industry and Trade needs to speed up price stabilization in association with the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” and the program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”; intensify the fight against smuggling, fake and counterfeit products, contributing to removing enterprises’ hurdles in production & business and protecting customers’ rights and interests…”.
Over the past nine months, provincial Department of Industry and Trade sped up prevention on smuggling, trade fraud fake and counterfeit products with 9,671 tours of inspection realized. The result discovered 4,864 infringements with total fine of VND72bln, collected arrears of VND214.8bln and the amount of confiscated goods was valued at VND4.9bln. Also during the time, the department made a survey of 60 enterprises about their production and business activities while suggesting provincial People’s Committee to help remove their difficulties for better development.
