Provincial Women's Union has recently organized a delegation to visit and present gifts in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, aiming at commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) and supporting the 2025 “Accompanying women in border areas” program.

According to Huynh Thi Thuy Phuong, Permanent Vice President of provincial Women's Union, the 2025 "Accompanying women in border areas" program was carried out in Tan Hong district’s Thong Binh commune in Dong Thap province. The program was funded through contributions from officials and members, as well as support from provincial Association of Female Entrepreneurs and Do Anh Long, Director of Anh Long Private Enterprise.
During the program, the delegation delivered 50 gifts, including essential supplies and cash worth VND 50 million, to 30 disadvantaged women and 20 children in the locality. They also handed over a "Great Unity" house of 54 square meters valued at VND 60 million, to the family of Nguyen Thi Thanh who belongs to a near-poor household in Thong Binh commune’s Ca Vang hamlet.
The presentation of the solidarity house also responded to the program of "Eliminating substandard houses”. Over the past time, provincial Women's Union not only supported women within the province, but also mobilized resources and encouraged affiliated units to expand this humanitarian initiative to other provinces, particularly through the "Accompanying women in border areas" program organized by all-level Women's Unions.
According to Mrs. Thuy Phuong, this is the third year that provincial Women's Union has coordinated with relevant units to implement the program of "Accompanying women in the border areas" in Dong Thap province. These activities had practical significance, taking care of people's lives, helping the poor have houses, striving to complete the program of eliminating substandard houses for poor and near-poor households. The program also motivated women in the border areas to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and actively participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the coming time.
