Initial achievements
These industrial compounds have been launched as stipulated and their detailed plannings have met standards. Accordingly, these industrial compounds’ tenant area has reached 38.1%. In particular, there are 4 industrial compounds winning 100% of their tenancy. They include industrial compounds (IC) of Binh Chuan, An Thanh, Tan Dong Hiep and Nice City Joint Stock Company’s IC. The provincial industrial compounds have lured 41 projects, 8 of which are local projects and 33 others are foreign ones worth VND420bil and US$185mil, respectively. At present, 37 projects have been under operation and 4 others are under construction.
The industrial compounds have involved in many fields such as electronics, mechanics, chemical, apparel, timber processing, building material, porcelain and so on.
Despite efforts, construction of industrial compounds in the province has encountered difficulties, especially site clearance and compensation. As such, some industrial compounds like Tan My, Uyen Hung, Phu Chanh… must adjust their detailed plannings in line with the real area. Until now, apart from 3 industrial compounds of Binh Chuan, An Thanh and Tan Dong Hiep invested by Becamex Company and Nice City JSC’s industrial compound, 4 industrial compounds such as Tan My, Uyen Hung, Phu Chanh and Thanh An have faced difficulties of investment attraction.
Measures for development
According to Tran Van Rang, vice director of the provincial department of Trade and Industry, the department has made greater efforts to instruct industrial compounds’ investors to deploy projects as stipulated; to cooperate with relevant agencies and local authorities to solve obstacles for the sake of completion of projects.
However, there are 2 industrial compounds (Uyen Hung and Phu Chanh) facing problems of site clearance and compensation.
To create sustainable development for the provincial industrial compounds, the provincial People’s Committee ratified Decision No.1506/QD-UBND on setting up plannings of industrial compound development till 2020 and vision 2025. The decision also includes incentives for investors and enterprises. These are proper policies, facilitating urban development.
The entire province now has 8 industrial compounds including Binh Chuan (67.5ha), An Thanh (46.1ha) in Thuan An town, Tan Dong Hiep (57.9ha) in Di An town, Thanh An (49.5ha) in Dau Tieng and Nice City JSC (26.2ha), Tan My (88.8ha), Uyen Hung (122.2ha) and Phu Chanh (119.9ha) in Tan Uyen.
