Meeting of industry associations, and domestic investors in the province to consolidate trust of the business community

 

Morning Oct 7, PPC hosted a meeting of industry associations and domestic investors in the province. Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of PPC, chaired the meeting, with the participation of relevant agencies, sectors concerned. At the meeting, concerns and problems of the business community were answered, solved satisfactorily by the authorities.

Many urgent issues to be posted

Currently, the province has 7 industry associations and 1 export association. The industry associations are very dynamic and contribute significantly to provincial socio-economic development. However, the industry associations have encountered constantly difficult problems that need to be solved as soon as possible in order to maintain business growth, improve competitiveness in the market.

At the conference, many concerns of enterprises were sent to the authorities and were answered promptly, creating high satisfaction from industry associations and domestic enterprises. Representatives of Furniture Association recommended, provincial Tax Department should advise the General Department of Taxation, the Government to have policy on VAT exemption for wood processing machinery, equipment to create fixed assets, help enterprises innovate technology, improve labor productivity and product quality. Representatives of provincial Tax Department said, based on current regulations, current tax legislation, in normal business condition, there were no VAT exemption on machinery and equipment procurement. However, provincial Tax Department noted these recommendations and would continue reviewing, selecting and reporting to higher levels for timely settlement.

Ms. Phan Le Diem Trang, Deputy Chairwoman of Binh Duong Textile Association recommended, provincial Market Control Sub should take control and prevent timely commercial frauds in terms of goods imported from China into Vietnamese market. Replying this petition, representatives of provincial Market Control Sub said, based on the 2016 working program of Department of Trade and Industry, and directives of the National 389 Steering Committee and PPC, the department had actively carried out market inspection, discovered a series of violation and handled actively to create trust from local businesses and residents.

Regarding social security issues, health insurance has been also a common concern of many industry associations and enterprises in Binh Duong on this occasion. All associations hoped that Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs would propose adjustments to regulations on the monthly wage subject to premiums in order to help enterprises reduce input costs, stabilize and develop production. Answering the issue, according to representatives of provincial Social Insurance, during the effectuation of Labor Law and Social Insurance Law, the unit listened, studied and solved arising problems to ensure efficient businesses operations. Provincial Social Insurance would promptly propose solutions to competent authorities to help enterprises in the near future.

Boosting business support

At the conference, there are many problems concerned provincial business community, and needed swift solutions from PPC to facilitate business production and development. These issues were answered and noted by PPC, departments, sectors. This satisfied the participants and created greater confidence from enterprises.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vu, Chairman of Binh Duong Leather and Footwear Association, said: "After three hours of the conference, we were satisfied with the answers of PPC as well as agencies, sectors. This showed that Binh Duong province always listens to and shares difficulties with enterprises". Meanwhile, Mr. Mai Huu Tin, Chairman of Binh Duong Federation of Enterprises, said: “Obviously, this conference was really very significant to the business community in the province. This was not only an opportunity for businesses to talk about their difficulties and obstacles with PPC; and in contrary, provincial leaders also got an objective, comprehensively and deeper look at each sector and industry”.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of PPC, said that this conference was a very important occasion for PPC to listen, share difficulties of the associations, domestic enterprises in the province. Mr. Liem emphasized, in the near future, companies needed to actively integrate, expand markets, promote investment and business production as well as comply with policies, laws, social security, ensure a stable life to employees ... To industries in the province, all agencies needed to remove difficulties, create favorable conditions for enterprises; intensify supports for business product advertising, encourage and assist enterprises in access to funds. In the coming time, PPC will continue enhance the reform of administrative procedures, ensure publicity, transparency, create favorable conditions for businesses activities. In addition, the province will improve the investment environment, enhance competitiveness and boost business support.
