MoIT launches national electricity saving campaign

On the afternoon of May 22, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) held an online conference to update information on the situation of electricity supply and launch the 2023 national electricity saving movement in Hanoi. In Binh Duong, leaders of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, Binh Duong Power Company and some key enterprises attended the event.

Speaking at the conference, Tran Dinh Nhan, General Director of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) said that the hot weather is taking place nationwide, leading to an increasing demand for electricity. In order to ensure the power supply for production and daily life, in addition to solutions to save electricity, EVN has also implemented a program to adjust additional charge at requirements.

At the launching ceremony, in order to ensure safe and continuous power supply during the dry season and the whole year of 2023, the MoIT called and suggested relevant ministries and central agencies, EVN, People's Committees of provinces and cities to focus on directing the promotion of communication work; strengthen propaganda on economical and efficient use of electricity to raise people, businesses’ awareness of electricity saving while having solutions to support and encourage businesses and households to apply advanced technological solutions, transform and replace production technologies and outdated electrical and electronic equipment with great consumption on electricity, energy to the new ones that  use less electricity, energy...
