The province’s Steering Board for the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” have made efforts in implementing the campaign, contributing to raising the local people’s awareness in using Vietnamese goods. So far, many market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” have been organized in 85 sales points with a total revenue of more than VND2.242trillion. This initial result has affirmed the efficiency of the campaign.
Customers prefer home-made goods
Provincial Department of Industry and Trade during the 2010 and 2014 period has acted as an advisory for provincial People’s Committee to issue annual plans on measures to stabilize and stockpile essential commodities. So far, there have been 12 participating enterprises with 85 sales points and total revenue reaching more than VND2.242trillion or 105.7% of the plan.
As of August 2014, the province’s program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” has held 53 market-days in rural areas, industrial compounds and parks with a total revenue of more than VND30.4bln.

At each market, the organizing board also mobilized participating enterprises to present 30 gifts worth between VND300,000 and VND500,000 each to workers with difficult circumstances and needy households; provided free haircut, medical check-ups and medicine for rural people…The good cooperation between the local functional sectors at all levels and participating enterprises contributed to the initial success of the program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” over the past time.
Vo Van Cu, Director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) said that provincial DoIT over the past time instructed economic divisions at all levels, supermarkets and trade centers in the province to make dissemination of information about the program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas”. Provincial DoIT also teamed up with press agencies in the program to propagandize and print 500 books regarding customers’ rights and interests, helping the local people be more aware of their responsibilities, rights and interests when buying and using home-made commodities. This aimed to create a habit of giving priority to using Vietnamese goods among them.
Market-days of Vietnamese goods promoted
Nguyen Thanh My, Deputy Director of provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information said that the center has joined hands with sectors and departments at all levels of the province to map out plans on organizing the program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” at province-based industrial compounds and parks, contributing to promoting the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.
According to the center, more sales points on Vietnamese goods need to be organized in the coming time. It is expected that from September 19 to December 21, the center will kick off six market-days of Vietnamese goods in Tan Uyen town, Dau Tieng and Phu Giao districts. Each market-day takes place from two to three days with discounts of 5% and above. At each market, many promotional programs will be also launched by participating enterprises.
The center is expected to mobilize 30 participating enterprises at each market-day with 40-45 booths. It is hoped that the program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” will bring customers in the rural areas of the province hi-quality Vietnamese products with reasonable price, satisfying their demand for shopping.
Mr.Cu said that the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” in the province has reached encouraging results, creating a change in awareness and action of people from all strata in giving priority to using Vietnamese goods. Some participating enterprises and producers have paid more attention to bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas, improving products’ design and quality…
