Thuan An town’s Farmers’ Society has just forwarded a conference to sum up the movement of “Good farmer in production and business” between 2009 and 2012 and define orientations for the 2012 and 2014 period.
After three year-implementation of the movement, many exemplary role-models were discovered. The whole town also had 2,568 out of 3,607 households winning the title of “Good farmer in production and business” at all levels.
The movement was also implemented in association with family planning, environmental protection, social evil prevention, new rural area construction…
Over the past three years, the town’s Farmers’ Society mobilized well-off households to offer help to poor ones with total money of more than VND8.5bln; mobilized organizations, units to build 92 unity and compassion houses with a total expanse of VND2.3bln. Its members also contributed money, donated land, crop plants…worth more than VND8.1bln together with 1,445 working days for new rural area construction.
On this occasion, 20 outstanding farmers were awarded the certificates of merit from the town’s People’s Committee and 100 farmers were also granted the certifications of “good farmer” from the town’s Farmers’ Society.
