Thuan An town’s Party Committee, on February 6, held a meeting in early lunar new year 2014 to give a report on the local situation before, during and after the 2014 traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.
According to the report, residents in Thuan An town welcomed a safe and economical Tet. They expressed their delight at achievements done by the country, the province and the town.
Thuan An town’s Party, People’s Committee also instructed sectors, mass organizations and localities to well realize plans in celebration of the Party and 2014 Lunar New Year while organizing delegations to visit and present Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor households and immigrant workers who stayed in Binh Duong for Tet.
Along with more than VND10bln from the central and provincial State budget, Thuan An town spent nearly VND400mln on visiting and presenting Tet gifts to policy beneficiary families and more than VND3.4mln on taking care of needy people during Tet.
It is known that 10 communes and wards in Thuan An also mobilized and presented more than 12,000 Tet gifts to need people and workers who could not return home for Tet.
