To promote new rural construction,
localities in the province have focused on promoting agriculture and rural
development from many programs, including the National Target Program on
poverty and employment creation; the Program on Population and Family Planning;
the National Target Program on Rural Clean Water; the provincial Party
Committee’s Action Program No.77/Ctr-TU on agriculture, rural development and
farmers…
Dau Tieng district is
hastening rural infrastructure construction for its communes
The effective implementation of the above programs has contributed to promoting the province’s socio-economic development in the rural region, step by step improving the spiritual and material lives’people herein. Also upon them implemented in a synchronous way, the province’s value of agriculture-forestry and fisheries production has continued gaining stable growth by 4.7%/year; the average production value of a hectare of farming land as of late 2011 reached VND70mln and the average income per capita of people in the rural region was VND20.25mln. The number of poor people in the rural region under the new poverty line has reduced to 1.25% of total.
The province’s rural agriculture and hi-tech agriculture have also achieved certain progress. Many farmer households and farmsteads have learnt to apply sci-tech advancements in agricultural production, contributing to cutting down labor cost and minimizing diseases.
Such these apart, the province’s economy in the rural region has continued shifting towards the growth of industry and services. The whole province is now home to 1,351 cooperative groups in agricultural production with 27,670 members; 14 agricultural cooperatives with 501 members and 938 farmsteads under the new criteria with 5,251 regular laborers and 10,302 hectares of farming land. The province has also paid attention to giving vocational training to laborers with around 46,000 laborers trained annually, lifting the ratio of laborers trained up 60% of total, in which there are 45% of rural laborers.
Awareness changed
Localities in the province have accelerated propaganda activities about the purposes and significations of the new rural construction program to raise people’s awareness by many forms.
Thanks to the propaganda work implemented well, people in Tan Uyen district’s Bach Dang commune, Thuan An town’s An Son commune and Dau Tieng district’s Thanh An commune selected as pilot localities to implement the new rural construction program have made their contributions to the program.
Pham Van Hoang, chairman of Bach Dang communal People’s Committee said that the local authorities have sped up dissemination of information about the new rural construction program to the local people so that they know more about the significance of the program for better implementation.
Whilst, Nguyen Tan Binh, vice-chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee said that the local people’s awareness of new rural construction has been improved, contributing to creating a consensus in the implementation of this program.
New rural construction promoted
With high determination, the local authorities and people are promoting the new rural construction program.
Provincial People’s Council has recently set up a delegation inspecting implementation of the new rural construction program, headed by Tran Thi Kim Van, vice-chairman of provincial People’s Committee. Mrs.Van has spoke highly of localities’ efforts in implementation of the program over the past time while requiring them consider and improve the program’s issues pertaining to propaganda, training…for better results.
