In recent years, the commune’s economy has gained the annual growth of 15%. The local economic structure has been shifted in the right direction with 40% of agriculture, 36% of trade-service and 24% of industry-construction. The average income of the local people has reached nearly VND50million per capita per year.
Luu Vinh Quoc, Chairman of Thanh Tuyen communal People’s Committee said that under the Resolution of the local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure, the commune has mobilized locals to change economic models in line with the local real situation. This has helped locals effectively realize many new economic models, promoting the local economy.
Some effective models in the commune include the orchid farmstead of Vo Van Quang with the average income of between VND40million and VND50million per month; the cow farmstead of Thach Thien with nearly 70 cows and annual profit of between VND250million and VND300million.
Noticeably, the linkage model of mangosteen growing under VietGAP standards has achieved hi-economic efficiency with the participation of many households, namely Nguyen Van Ty, Tran Van Sau, Le Van Me, Nguyen Van Tri…. On average, each household can secure around VND150million after each crop. In recent three years, “Thanh Tuyen” mangosteens have always won prizes at contests for delicious fruits in the southeastern region.
Well tapping tourism potential
For trade-tourism, Thanh Tuyen commune now has a chance for vigorous development, especially when HCM city has implemented a project expanding Cu Chi tunnel historical relic site in association with the commune’s ecotourism development with 116 hectares. The commune has mapped out a policy on developing Thanh Tuyen commune into a specialized area on mangosteen growing, aiming to promote the local ecotourism along
The project on special orchard development in association with ecotourism is being realized by the commune’s relevant sectors. Once being completed, the project will create a tourism product connected between Thanh Tuyen orchard, Cu Chi tunnel, Dau Tieng reservoir-Cau mountain, even Ba Den mountain tourism site.
To victoriously realize targets on socio-economic development under the Resolution of the local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure, Mr.Quoc affirmed that the commune will further make the shift of the local economic structure towards the growth of industry, home industry, trade-service; attach special importance to fostering hi-tech and urban agricultural models; switch around 60 hectares of rice cultivation land into the growing of special fruit trees, bringing the total area of fruit tree growing herein so far to 176 hectares; reach the average value of hi-tech agriculture at between VND150million and VND200million per hectare per year…
Possibly speaking, the above-mentioned achievements came from the efforts by the commune’s whole Party, people and army. The commune will further uphold these achievements in order to victoriously realize tasks of the local Party Committee for the next period.
The commune has also paid attention to fostering processing industries, traditional craft villages...As planned, the commune will give priority to trade-service development along DT744 and main streets; strive to reach the average income of people at VND55million per person per year; reduce the rate of poor households under the province’s poverty line to below 1%...
