The People’s Committee of North Tan Uyen district, on October 9, approved the local report on socio-cultural performance in the first nine months of 2014.
Under the report, North Tan Uyen district saw a positive change in socio-cultural activities. The district also excelled at the task of “Paying debt of gratitude” during the period. Particularly, the district presented nearly 2,500 gifts worth more than VND1bln for the local policy beneficiaries and those with extremely difficult circumstances; organized cultural-sports activities for the local people, contributing to improving their spiritual lives…But, the district’s socio-cultural activities also faced shortcomings for change.
For the rest of the year, North Tan Uyen district needs to concentrate on effectively carrying out the national target programs; continue excelling at public healthcare; boost State administration work on cultural activities, give strict punishment for wrong cases relating to cultural services, intensify the local fight against social evils…, leaders of the district’s People’s Committee said.
